Is Tom's of Maine toothpaste vegetarian?

It says there is glycerin in it. Is it vegetable glycerin?

  1. Totally. My cousins are vegetarian, and they use it because it doesn't have any animal byproducts.


  2. Totally vegetarian/vegan.  The glycerin used is not animal based at all.

    They have been selling it for - well for a LONG TIME - it always has been safe for vegetarians/vegans.

  3. Tom's toothpastes are clearly labeled right on the tube that they don't contain animal ingredients and aren't tested on animals.  The company that owns them, though (Colgate?) does do animal testing for their other product lines.  I do use Tom's, though, because it's the only vegan-friendly flouride toothpaste I can find reliably.

  4. According to their website, their products have *no* animal ingredients and they do use vegetable glycerin.  Link below.
