Is Town centres open on bank holiday monday?

I'm in Scotland and our shops do open, although they're sometimes open shorter hours, eg 10am-4.30pm and some small independent shops don't open.

it depends. the banks and post offices are usually closed. most of the commercial businesses will be but not the smaller shops like your normal corner shop
