When be in Tripoli dont avoid going to the souk. It's really amazing and old one. I liked it so much

    Byblos.....well...........Byblos is AMAZING

  2. Im leaving to Lebanon in 6 days, and Im 12, last time i went to lebanon was in 05 i was 9 or 8, and i went to byblos, its is the best place to go, go there it is really nice, tripoli i hear it is a little unstable though lebanese people are friendly .

    IM LEBANESE AND PROUD

  3. Lebanon is only small, and there is no need for you to miss out on any of it.

Byblos is on the way to Tripoli from Beirut and although I don't recommend this if you have time, they can be both done in one day.

Byblos is a must see for its historical significance, its pittoresque location by the sea and there is a magic to it that cannot be explained unless you see it.

Tripoli needs to be seen for its character, it's old, busy and all over the place and of course it is home to the most famous Lebanese sweets on the face of the planet.

  4. the only thing you should care about is to make sure that you're protected against the sun. now both are great but i personally prefer Byblos because... well i don't know, i just like it, maybe because it's less hot during the summer. but visit both places, they're worth it, and you can be in one then about 2 hours after, you'll be in the other one.

  5. I would check locally about the situation in Tripoli and would go with someone who knows his way around.  I drive there by myself from Beirut - but I'm familiar with the area and the people.

Byblos is safe anytime - and can actually be quite crowded.  I love to drive up there from Beirut for lunch and a lazy afternoon just sitting and watching the ancient port.

  6. Well I love Byblos...didn't like Tripoli much though...

  7. None that I am aware of.....I am as caucasian looking as you will find & didn't feel unwelcome or threatened in either place, even when wandering through the souk in Tripoli alone ..
