  1. not hard...light...you should not worry...im in south florida...i should be worring...but im not...

  2. http://www.USAMediaGuide has a special section of links for Fay coverage.  You can get information about the path of the storm, expected rainfall, how to prepare for it and more...all from local news outlets and/or the National Hurricane Center.

  3. From the news reports we have here in Missouri it is supposedto hit the Keys of Florida meaning Key West and from being stationed there years ago I can tell you the tourists will leave and the natives will stay there.  So I would not worry, I do not think it will come close to you.  May the Lord Bless you in your worries.

  4. Well, I am one block from the ocean, and I live in South Carolina, and the news man was just on and said, to fill your bathtub with water, fill all the jugs you can with water, I buy milk in three gallon jugs from Sams club and keep them washed out after the milk is gone, so I can put water in them if need be. I am cooking ham and soup beans  . Will reheat about Wednesday.and put in a large thermos. I have filled my two hurricane lamps with oil, and I put the matches in the pocket of the pants I will be wearing Wednesday orThursday when it is expected to hit. I put a candle in the bathroom with matches beside it. I will put my wicker porch furniture in the guest bedroom if the weather man says it will be bad, They look for just a tropical storm now, with some power outages. Now I have not opened my freezer since I heard we might have a storm, and I will keep it closed, if the power goes out, food can last three days in a freezer I am told. If you do not open the freezer.I checked my two smoke detectors for new batteries, and I keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Now the latest storm tracker, said it would not hit us from the ocean, but would go right throught the middle of South Carolina, and clip the west side of North Carolina. So far it looks like a tropical storm, but I know from experience that can change. I always make a full pot of coffee and put that in a thermos also. We usually stay up and listen to the radio.  It just makes good sense to be prepared. And if the storm is a light one or takes a left turn, you can always use the water on your porch flowers.

I have been through three hurricanes, if you are told to evacuate, do so, but be sure and take sheets, sleeping bags, and a pillow with you, most shelters will not give you more than a place to sleep, If you are on any medications, be sure you have enough, because sometimes they will not let you back in the area, until they have cleaned it up (debris).  Hope this helps, fellow South Carolina dweller.

  5. umm it looks like it is going to hit florida and then probably dissipate i dont even think it is tracke dto hit S Carolina

  6. They show it tracking North on the Western side of Florida.  Sustained winds are only 45 to 50 so other than some downed tree limbs and localized flooding it is not that big of a deal.  It will only cause rainy windy weather in South Carolina.

  7. Doesn't look like it. Most models indicate that South Carolina may see some rain from the storm's remnants, but time will tell.

  8. Keep up with the forecasts here...
