  1. Turkey Red Oil, a.k.a. castor oil, is a fatty acid (triglyceride) extracted from the castor bean.  It is mostly (~90%) ricolenic acid, which has one unsaturation (double bond).

    Almost anything *can* oxidize something that's got a much lower oxidation potential.  That said, it's not likely that TRO would act as an oxidizer in most situations.  (More likely as to be a reducing agent.)
