  1. The majority of people are Muslim, but it is a secular country and in my experience not very religious.

  2. You again?

Why are you so obsessed with religion. Istanbul's major religion is Islam and all the characters are Turkish Muslim in Gümüş.

  3. Turkey is a secular country with a majority of moslem citizens. Istanbul is in Turkey so the same applies.

  4. Well, the users in Ramadan section have agreed that no Middle Eastern country can be called "Islamic", as they all have faults about sticking to the rules of Islam. In that context, there are monarchies and sheikdoms with a majority of Muslims in Middle East, but no Islamic country.

Turkey differs from such countries with its constitution, which says Turkey is secular, like Figdet above said. That means, belief and related practices is the affair one's own conscience and no person and group can force, judge and apply pressure on someone about how and why believes or not believes, and how he/she acts on his/her belief if there is one.

  5. 39% of Istanbul believes in Shintoism where 26% of the city belongs to the Scientology faith. The rest of the believers' religion can be broken up into Rastafarianism, Zoroastrianism, Animism and Gogetlaidnosilliyquestionsism.

Also, Dontyouhavebetterthingstodoism and WatchGümüsdontspendtimehereism are considered to be other remarkable faiths in Istanbul
