Is Tyne a boy's or girls name?

my partner is from Newcastle (upon Tyne) so i was thinking of Tyne for a middle name but cant decide if it sounds male or female? or both?

i think it could be both. the only Tyne i know of is Tyne Daly, an actress from some cop show way back.

I was about to say, the only Tyne I know is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, so had never thought of it as a baby name. But now you mention it, I think it could work as either. The spelling works too, I don't think it would be very nice spellt Tine.

I have a female friend name Tyne. Sorry I only know girls named Tyne but if it's a middle name nobody said it can't be unisex.

I would pick it as a boys name - it sounds rather quite masculine
