Does post-secondary schools in America like colleges, universities etc, have the right to deny a U.S. American passport as a proof that I'm a U.S. citizen???

  1. a birth certificate showing born in USA  is proof.  in order to get a US passport, you must provide a legal copy of your birth certificate. Colleges and Universities should accept a US passport as proof but will ask for more proof, ie, birth certificate.

  2. No.  Ask to speak with a supervior.  A passport is 100% proof of citizenship.

  3. Schools and Universities have been told to NOT enroll illegal aliens.  That cost was staggering for some of the States.  In any case, ALL of the identifications in this country are being changed and significantly.  A U.S. Passport has to be changed along with drivers licenses and much more.

If it is a new passport and you provided a certified birth certificate when you got the passport, they may accept it.  But I believe that if you are a citizen, you need to have the Real I.D. to get into any school in this country now.

  4.   No,  that's the whole idea of a passport. It proves citizenship.

  5. yes it is proof. no, i dnt think they have any grounds to deny! even the government documents i've filed accepted it as proof!

  6. Yes. Unless it's fake.

  7. where did you get your passport??? in mars???!!!   ofcourse its proves your a citizen if u have a us  passport....that y says:

    nationality:  u.s.a

    duh!!!!

  8. a U.S. passport (unexpired or expired) can be used as a proof of US citizenship in some cases, but it is not equal to the Certificate of U.S. Citizenship.

For example, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that a revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) is now available for use. All employers are required to complete a Form I-9 for each employee hired in the United States, in which a U.S. passport (unexpired or expired) can be used as a proof of US citizenship.
