    your state pension and any other income are added together for tax purposes and if they exceed your personal tax allowance you are then billed by the revenue. It is not deducted at source.

Yes both answers correct - Depending on your age and the amount of the pension you receive it might be under the taxable limit.  You may be enitiled to a higher tax free allowance if you are over 65.   If you receive more than your personal allowance you will be required to fill in a yearly tax return to establish how much you have to pay in tax.  If however you work for an employer while receiving your state pension, your tax will be deducted at source via PAYE.

    However, you should get advice from your local Tax  Office.
