Is US funding of terrorist organisations simply because they are in Iran making Osama Bin Laden of tomorrow?

History is replete with examples where a foreign power funds a rebel roup and then almost like clockwork 20 years later those same groups are the ones being chased down as terrorist groups.

Since the terrorists in Iran are on the US terrorist list, isn't funding them giving aid and comfort to the enemy, if if the also share an enemy in common?

It's a stunningly arrogant, short sighted, and downright stupid thing to do. For one thing there is zero chance it will succeed in overthrowing the Iranian regime, any more than someone sending arms and money to the KKK could expect them to overthrow the US government. And what WOULD Americans think about a foreign government that aided and abetted militant groups in the USA devoted to overthrowing the American government? It wouldn't be pretty. Yet Bush can't grasp that the typical Iranian is going to feel the same about the US arming Iranian criminals? This sort of meddling is why we are hated over much of the world, sometimes I think that must be the plan we do it so much.

Not to mention some of them are actually linked to Alqaeeda. The idea is it will destabilize Iran & US would move in. Of course CIA doesn't seem to think so. The situation is completely different in Iran, and any anti-Iranian rhetoric actually strengthens the regime.

Reagan and Bush's daddy funded Osama.

They also funded many other terrorists in Central and South America as well as in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Many democratically elected governments were overthrown at the hands of evil dictators funded and trained by the Nixon/Reagan/Bush administrations.
