It is a scam.

Let me guess, you have received an e-mail saying you have won on the UK national lottery? And you need to pay a fee for them to release it to you?

I've got news for you, it's an out and out scam.  Don't touch it.

No lottery advises its "winners" by e-mail.

I'd mention there is a genuine courier firm called "Universal Air Couriers Ltd" in Egham, Surrey, whose contact details are:
