Is Universal health care really that great?

I think that depends on how you rate health care. From what I hear France health care is pretty good but still full of shortcomings. In some ways the US health care is still rated best in the world. Even though health care is expensive in the US, people that can afford the best, come from around the world to the US for health care.

I'd rather be sick in Canada  than here in the USA. Here, I'd just lose my house, job and probably life.

Why don't all those charming white republicans I see on TV get a clue... if we didn't have social programs in our government, where would this all white trailer-set get their welfare, food stamps and medicare? Frankly, I think all this screaming over healthcare is just a ruse to hide their racism. Every time I hear one of them screaming "stop cramming it down our throats" it takes me back to the early 60s when my racist white grandparents in Mississippi would say the exact same thing about desegregation. Yikes... I thought these people would be dead by now too.
