Is University of Texas at Austin a good university?

Question

I am looking at possibly going overseas to study computer science especially games technology/development. Is UT a good choice or is their a better uni out there to help me fufil my goals?

A very good school indeed. I'm not sure where you are and thus what counts as "overseas" but another choice is the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Not sure about the program at UT, but Austin in general has more than it's fair share of companies in the gaming industry, and has a gaming development conference in Sept., so there's lots of opportunities for networking and doing internships.
