  1. No, because it has no fiber and way too much salt.

  2. Fruit juices in general are not that healthy because they contain a lot of sugars, albeit natural sugars, and not a lot of nutrition for the trade-off.  However, these types of drinks still have a high impact on blood sugar levels and insulin response.  That said, the v8 fusion drinks are a better option than soda and I belive better option than other bottled fruit juices, because they do at least contain a variety of nutrients from the veggies and fruits.  V8 fusion DOES NOT contain fiber and I am appalled that they are even allowed to claim it as a serving of fruits/vegetables.  It is nowhere near the same as eating a serving of a fresh fruit or vegetable.  My advice, stick with water to drink and get your nutrients from food.

  3. There seems to be a trade-off with the V8Fusion.  You get the nutrients from the veggies and fruits in there, but they leave out the important fiber that helps to regulate sugar and insulin responses.  What you can use this for is a nice protein drink with added fiber.  Use the 2 scoops of protein mix in the 8 ounces of V8 Fusion, add a tsp. or tablespoon of metamucil or whatever fiber supplement you have.  Drink up!

I recommend getting a VitaMix and making your own fruit and veggie combos that will include the natural fiber/pulp in a very drink-able form.  There is a yahoo vitamix group that shares their recipes for such things.
