Is Vampire Kisses a good series to read?

I have read the Twilight series over and over again, and my friends think I should read the Vampire Kisses series.

They said that if I liked Twilight i would like this series as well.

Some other people told me that it wasn't as good, but still cute.

Should I read it, and what order do the books go in?

How many are there?

I liked the first book, but after that I think they are just okay.
