Arsenal's performance on Saturday was sublime. It was an absolute pleasure to watch at times, we played some fantastic stuff and well yeah It was a great game except for a few things, Barton on Nasri part and..............Van Persie limping off. I'm very happy with the result and the way we got it. Seeing Van Persie limping off the pitch with his boot in his hand made me a bit worried. He got injured again, this time taking a shot! Is this boy made of glass ? I always think he has 15-20 goals in him per season, Whats your opinion on him ? How many goals do you think RVP can score on an injury free season ?

  1. i think he shud be bubble wrapped! he is capabale of a lot more and its only the injuries getting to him! thats what really terrrible becuz he is being limited!

  2. I'm a Portsmouth fan and Van Persie would be on my starting eleven even if i had all the money in the world he can really hit a ball, has good pace especially when running with it, has a good free kick. probably the best penalty taker in the prem. Also he is probably the most technically advanced player too that goal against Charlton will always be one of my favourite goals. i'd say his link up play is more important to Arsenal however I still think he can score about 17 goals in the league alone, i hope he stays injury free. Dont think the injury is too bad either.

  3. He's a bit like Saha and Owen

i don't understand whats wrong with these players.

  4. Van Persie is a class player and Arsenal are going to need him playing regular football if they are to make a genuine title challenge so it is such a shame that he is so fragile, he seems to be forever injured and Arsenal do miss his creativity. He was outstanding on Saturday but now it looks like he is out again so where does that leave Arsenal as they do not have a replacement for him of the same quality. You can see how Man Utd have missed Ronaldo lately and i fear that Arsenal will miss Van Persie to the same degree.

  5. No, but Adebayor looks like Mr. Glass off the film "The Unbreakable" starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson.   :)

  6. RVP in an injury free season would be burying 40+ easily.

  7. Getting salary without effort.

  8. Urgh, i was watching it and talking to Rapture and she goes "I bet Van Persie will get injured" and 20 mins later he was =/

What medics/training facility you got at Arsenal? that should be the starting place to resolve this.

  9. Sure he has that potential, but the way things seem...you can only guess.

  10. He didn't get enough Calcium... I blame his mother.

  11. He'd easily hit 20 if he stayed injury free. Doesn't seem possible tho.

  12. All Dutch players seem to be made of glass... There must be something wrong in the way they are brought up to play professionally.

  13. Yes.

If I were Wenger I'll sell him off at a high price when I still can.  If I can remember, he never has a injury free season. I mean mostly injury free season.

Yes, his number of goals against matches play are good. But he cannot play the whole season, and this becomes a liability as Wenger always reluctant to bring in another striker as he is still there.

  14. I had him down as top scorer in the 07-08 season and I think if he was fully fit Arsenal would have won the title. To me he's your best striker but never gets enough games consistently to prove it.

  15. They played wonderful football, arsenal. Passing beautifully. I thought Aderbayor deserved a goal. RVP has always been one of my personal favourites, too bad hes injury prone. He has 20 goals or more in him if he gets an injury free season.

I didnt like the Barton-Nasri incident. I thought Barton was being a total a*****e, But he got what he deserves. Dont worry about Nasri he knows what going on, he can take care of himself.

  16. Probably, he always looks shattered at the end of games to me ?

  17. rvp will get up 21 goals this season

  18. Injury free, he can score about 20 you are right because he is very good at finding space, and craftily appearing when nobody has tracked his runs.  Unfortunately, he is injured a lot and so this hampers his progress and development.  He can join the likes of Owen, Saha, Robson, Bellamy and Redknapp in that bracket.
