  1. Vanguard is one of the top 10 mutual fund companies in the USA. They are, overall the least expensive mutual fund company out there!

    Many of their funds are top rated. They have many "index" funds which to some people, are the best way to go!  I don't agree with that overall thinking.

    Bottom line:  You could do a whole lot worse!  Read:Mutual Funds For Dummy's & learn about Asset Allocation. Vanguard is always a good choice..... later on take a look at;

    Dodge & Cox

    T. Rowe Price

  2. Vanguard is consider one of the better financial firms in the industry,

    The firm provides and has always provided products with the customer in mind and have always performed by doing what's best for their clients.

    They are not only considered among the top rated investing firms, but their funds have always performed better than most.

  3. Yes. I have several with vanguard and they have a good variety and low fees. Their website is extensive and comprehensible. They also have store front locations where you can actually sit down and talk about any issues.

  4. Sure. Their specialty is index funds. All index funds have much less expenses than actively managed funds. Some manged funds have  a good history of greater payouts/smaller losses but the majority lose out.

    Vanguard is the best index place I think, T.Rowe Price has some low managed funds if that is your tastes as well. I think Fidelity is pretty cheap too but they seem to be going in to lots of sector/specialty funds.

  5. Yes.

    They get an A in an ocean of C & D providers.

  6. They are the champion of index funds.  They are the low cost leader.
