Is Vatican City a good place to stay?

Question

Im doing a trip to Italy and I am thinking about booking an apartment in Vatican City, about 10 minutes walk away from St Pauls. I was just wondering would this be a good area to stay in and are there local amenities near by (e.g. restaurants, cafes, bars, etc)?

good to stay in this city because you can go to trevi fountain (tourist spot) just a few meters away from vatican city.there are a lots of restaurant and try these food/pasta..........pasta mare, pasta melanzane and the green/verde color. very mouth watering, and pizza margerita, very cheap yet delicious. five euro per order.

Vatican City is a great place to stay if you're the Pope.

I don't think there's any public accomodation - in - Vatican City. Near Vatican City, yes.

And, yes, the area around the Vatican is great, if a bit crowded.

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. You can't rent an apartment IN the Vatican City. You can rent one NEAR it. The Vatican City does not accommodate tourists within its walls. As the answerer above said, Borgo Pio is a good place to stay. It is the area immediately outside the Vatican walls.

Furthermore, what St. Paul's church are you referring to? There are 2 churches with this name in Rome: one is on Via Nazionale, called St. Paul's within the Walls and is a Protestant church that caters mostly to American and English Protestants, and is a bit more then just 10 minutes walking distance from the Vatican; the other one is called St,. Paul's outside the Walls and is quite far from the Vatican. You need to take the B subway to get there, and get off at the "San Paolo" stop.
