Is Venezuela A Good Place To Go For A Vacation?

Question

I am thinking of going on a vacation this summer and I was wondering if Venezuela would be a good place to go.

here's what im looking for:

-friendly people

-national parks and more of a nature scene

-a mainstream scene (like the city)

Also - where in Venezuela should I go.. like Caracas?

please answer based on your own experiences. so please just answer if you've been there - thanks!

Caracas is a very dangerous city- unless you speak fluent Spanish. It is not advisable. As soon as you land at the airport people will rush to take your bags and refuse to acknowledge your saying no. I had an awful time and finally rushed into the terminal again and went to the counter and told them that this person took my bag and would not give it back and he demanded money. They were gracious  to me and yelled at him and called the police. I found Caracas a place that even the police told us to be careful. Go to Argentina if you have the choice - much safer.

Caracas is a dangerous place even if you DO speak Spanish. This is really NOT a good time to go to Venezuela; there is political unrest and the crime rate is among the highest in the world. Rio de Janeiro is a piece of cake compared to Caracas. If you MUST go to South America, try Ecuador, Peru or Argentina
