  1. There is more to do in Rome. It is a bigger city and has more interesting tourist and cultural sites thanks to its history and plainly because it is bigger in size.

  2. i personally prefer Venice.

  3. Rome. plain and simple.

  4. rome was pretty awsome, more to see, venice was pretty much just canals, which are neat yes but,,

  5. or maybe Florence?

  6. Rome's the coolest.

Check out this Rome  Guide (Interactive, with satellite maps and all):

Then u will know that there isn't a place like Rome in the world.

  7. Look depends on your interests and what you expect to do there. Both deserve attention..I've been in Italy many times and if you go in vacation I would not recomend you neither Rome, nor Venice..Better go in the summer in Costiera Amalfi, near Naples,a great place..or in South of Italy..But if you want some answer go to Rome first..

  8. Florence!  The city had a laid-back feel and didn't seem overly crowded.  We felt we could just walk around and see all that we wanted.  Plus, the view from the top of the Duomo was awesome!  The Boboli Gardens were a special treat in the middle of the afternoon for a break.  Plus, all the street vendors make shopping so much fun without hitting up the stores.  And we had the best pizza there!

  9. I prefer Venice. Actually I have never been in Rome.

All the canals makes Venice unique and special. Venice is really beautiful if you like architecture.

  10. Journeying on to Florence  through  the Tuscan  countryside: Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Arezzo and other delightful towns dot the road to Pisa where who are guested of the Agostini family Villa di Corliano. The family - and 2 resident ghosts - still welcome guest at the Villa, much as it they were at the height of its fame in the 1770’s. The stay at Bagni di Pisa (health giving waters are still offered to an international clientele) and visit Pisa during one of the city’s festivals, staying at the Agostini Palace to enjoy the best view of the festivities http://www.provincia.pisa.it/pisalive/it...

The Villa has hosted many illustrious guests such as Gustavus III of Sweden, Christian II of Denmark, the Royal Family of Great Britain, Benedict Stuart Cardinal of York, General Murat, Luigi Buonaparte, Paolina Borghese, Carlo Alberto of Savoy, the poets Byron and Shelley, and various other personages from the history books. The area of the Pisa hills was already an attraction for enlightened travellers in the first half of the 1700s with the growth of the thermal spa of San Giuliano, which became a fashionable spot for the well-off classes. The mansions on the road along the hills, already renowned as places of gentle idleness and relaxation in the heart of the countryside and also for their small industrial facilities for the transformation of agricultural products, soon assumed the characteristics of true leisure resorts, just like those narrated by Carlo Goldoni and which we can continue to enjoy today.

The Relais dell’ Ussero at the Villa Agostini della Seta di Corliano http://www.corliano.it is on the road which runs along the foot of the hills from Pisa to Lucca, passing through the small town of San Giuliano Terme. The Villa is a historical fifteenth century mansion surrounded by a centuries old park. It is a property of great charm in which the owners offer, in 12 rooms and 2 suites, a relaxing stay immersed in the beauties of the local countryside.

Guests, if they like, can join in the day to day activities of the villa. They can have relaxing strolls in the park, potter around in the gardens, chat or have dinner with the owners in the farmhouse of the villa – today a high class restaurant http://www.ladycarlotta.it/

They can also organize all the necessary details for your meetings, convention, weddings at 1700’s small pivate church or at 1400’s sky garden or at the park of the Villa or at the oldest Italian cinema http://www.lumierecinema.it/ restructured with modern audio visual technologies on 2004 near the Vecchio Dado Resturant http://www.vecchiodado.com/ for a very good ice cream at the old “diacciaia” (now De Coltelli gelateria) http://www.decoltelli.it/

  11. There is a lot to see and do in Rome but it is a huge and extremely busy city. I personally prefer Venice. Still plenty of amazing sightseeing to do but the atmosphere is beautiful. You can sit out in San Mark's Square eating gelati and listening to free orchestra music that most of restaurants have playing live. There is something about being in Venice that makes you feel alive!!! Rome has very interesting sightseeing but so big, busy and polluted.

  12. Rome is fantastic and not to be missed. Venice is just a small place with a few canals.

In Rome you have magnificent architecture, beautiful piazzas, quaint churches, historical monuments and fountains, catacombs, the forum, the colosseum... it is a living museum.

Another city I love is Verona. It is a kind of mini Rome with a fantastic opera festival during July & August.

  13. If it is your first time in Italy or either places, then ROME!

It was the center of the World!

It is a big city with many things to see and do including the Vatican City.

On the other hand, if you want to take it easy and see something different and unique in term of the close relationship between the city and water, then VENICE!  It is fun just to take a boat ride around.

Can't go wrong with either places.  See pictures below....

  14. What does best mean to you? Personally I feel the best place in Italy is Florence and the market towns to the north provide marvelous shopping. Top see "David" is worth the trip alone.

  15. Both are awesome cities, so is Florence.  In Rome there is a ton to do and it is obviously very rich in tradition and history.  Venice is very cool, although there isn't necessarily a ton of things to do or see, however when I was there we were always busy in Venice and it is definately a very unique city.  It is just cool to walk around.  I love them both.  My vote is for Venice.
