  1. no, too much sugar and calories

  2. all it has is extra vitamins in it. other wise its just like kool aid. take a multi vitamin with a full glass of water instead

  3. no stick to water. I read somewhere that it has something in it thats bad for you

  4. you kno i was askin myself the same question and did a bit of research, ppl tend to say that u should stick with plain water, but i'm a biology major and if you're lacking vitamins and u feel it, taking vitamin water for a fixed amount of time is supposed to do the trick, but u can take supplements instead cause it is really hard to eat everything and get the whole recommended intake of vitamins you need for your body to function at its full potential, not to say that some of the foods that have the vitamins needed are disgusting so IMO, vitamin water is a do for a like a month cure

  5. Compared to coke and pepsi yes.  It would be better for the environment to drink out of a reusable thermos or bottle.

  6. No.

It has sugar, calories, and the vitamins are synthetic.

You are better off drinking regular water[filtered], and eating right. Vitamins should always be from natural sources as they are in an easier to digest form and are easily absorbed.

    Cod Liver Oil.

    Raw Milk.

    Veggies.

    Meat.

    Etc.

The Vitamin Water company is making a ton of money since everyone is health crazed but has no idea what healthy is.

  7. NO only the natural water is the best

  8. I've never heard anyone (aside from just uninformed consumers) admit to it being GOOD for you.

But I don't think it is BAD for you unless you are drinking it in excess, but in my opinion it is a waste of money.

Sure, drinking 1 vitamin water a day is no cause for alarm, but it should have no place as a substitue for water.

In comparison to other drinks like soda, sugary fruit juices, coffee, etc, vitamin water could be considered "good", but on its own it is nothing but water with some stuff added.

The sugar content of vitamin water is around 10-13 g per serving and last I checked 1 bottle had 2 servings. So thats about 20 g of sugar if you drink the whole bottle at once. Like any other drink aside from water, it is OK to have as a sweet drink for the day (and I would encourage people to choose those over soda pop) but in excess you are just adding more sugar to your diet.

The vitamins in water are indeed synthetic and vitamins that have been derived synthetically and are seperated from their food counterparts aren't as easily absorbed by the intestines. If one is deficient in a vitamin, then drinking a vitamin water could HELP to replenish the vitamin (although food sources are absolutely the best choice).

In the case of a normal adult drinking it, you probably will not gain anything from it as you are most likely up to date on the vitamin recommendations anyways. It will just pass through your system like normal water. The only one I would be wary of is the ones with added vitamin A. If vitamin A is added rather than beta carotene, you could set yourself up for toxicity if you drink too many.

Just follow the rule of thumb for any food: anything in moderation. You will not lose any health by drinking a vitamin water every day, but you will not stand to gain any serious health benefits either. If it tastes good to you, drink some, but don't use it as a substitute for good nutrition and pure water.

  9. it has a lot of sugar in it
