Washburn is most likely coming to the yankees for a B prospect.

There are 2 spots available right now. That is Ponson and Rasner's spots.

PHil Hughes should be coming back and Chien-Ming Wang is possibly coming back in September.

So do you think Washburn will pitch in the bullpen?

with this pitching rotation

1-moose

2-Joba (Youkilis killer)

3-Petite

4-Wang

5-Hughes

  1. i usualy agree with the moves that cashman makes

but i disagree with dis one

washburn is not having a good season at all

pitching to a ERA of about 5

i think u can take more out of giving the #5 starter to a ian kenedy who has been dominant in AAA or hughes if and wen he comes bac

  2. I would start Washburn over Hughes. Phil is coming back from injury and hasn't really proven himself yet. We have no idea how Joba will hold up  - he could get better as the season goes on or hit the wall. Wang also is coming off injury so is uncertain.

Washburn would definitely be starting the rest of the season.

Here's a though - Pettitte has consistently been much better in second half than first. Given he has been great the first half, is the best yet to come???

  3. Hughes is most likely going to start next year in the minors UNLESS:

    1. Yankees dont get Washburn

    2. One of those 5 gets hurt

    3. Pettite retires after this season

    Hope i helped!

  4. Hughes is most likely not gonna pitch this year in the majors. Hughes will be making his first rehab start on Monday for Gulf Coast Yankees. The Yankees still aren't sure Wang will be back this year. If he were to be in the bullpen it would only be for September because next year moose and Pettite are free agents, so he would be our 5th or 4th starter.

  5. I think so.  There are a lot of promising pitchers, and even though Washburn is good, it is too crowded, so there is no room in the rotation.

  6. I like the Youkilis killer ( good job Joba) Hughes is not in the rotation nor is Wang but if they get him then he would be in the starting rotation because the bullpen is very good right now and same with the starters. He might end up in the bullpen next year if he signs on with the Yankees. He is like insurance. Plus, Hughes might not be there when Washburn comes because he might get traded away along with probably Igawa. Rasnet might get traded away to if not Hughes. So you have to wait until he comes back to see whoo is left. Cashman did a good job dealing for Nady and Marte because he gave up almost nothing.

  7. hes not definitly coming and i really dont think they should get him but it all depends on how ponson pitches today in  boston. and if they do get him they'll have 9 starters (you forgot about kennedy who almost hed no hitter in scranton)
