  1. I would use the regular cycle for my jeans and towels to make sure they get good and clean

  2. wash you jeans in a normal load...turn them inside out to keep them from fading...towels on a reg also...

  3. ~~More agitation is more rubbing, which is what you want for hard working clothes. I have jeans and other hardier pants that I just may wear to the mall or something. When I know they aren't really dirty but just want them clean, I use delicate. Saves on the long washing process that just isn't necessary. I still use a high spin so I don't have yons of drying time needed. I pick the cycle by how dirty the clothes are.  Towels and linens I prefer a longer hot wash so I use regular.~~

  4. Delicate should really only be used for delicate stuff, bras, underwear, hoisery, anything made of delicate materials.  Jeans should be washed on regular cycle and I wash my towels on the sturdy or heavy duty cycle.

  5. The instructions on the garment should tell you how to wash them.

Delicate cycles are normally used for anything that you'd hand wash (e.g. chiffons, rayons, negligees) all the fagile weaves and fabrics.

Delicate  cycle is not suitable for jeans and towels. These items need vigorous wash action and high spin speeds to overcome the absorbent stiff nature of their thick sturdy cotton weaves.
