Is Washington DC geographically in Virginia?

Question

i know it's not in virginia but i need to prove someone wrong, they say it is, i need your honest answers please and answers from people that live in DC would be appreciated but any1 can answer.

Virginia is a political division of the US. That is the only geographically description of Virginia. i.e. Virginia is not a natural geographic feature. Washington DC is a separate political division. So by definition is not part of Virgina.

I live in Maryland and NO DC is not in Virginia.  It was built on Maryland land.  It was suposed to be built on both states but Virginia backed down at the last moment leaving only Maryland space for DC

No because virginia laws does not apply in Washington DC. Is like in Virginia, the highways could be 60MPH but in DC, It's 55mph.
