I don't think he will serve any jail time in the USA. A good lawyer will get him off.

I don't agree about the USA media getting involved. Nobody here knows who Wayne Carey is except for the less than 1 percent of us Yanks that follow footy.

If he spends any time, he will probably do it in Oz.

There'll be a plea bargain

Carey and the accuser will sell their stories to the press for shitloads more than the fine + legal costs

Carey will get a new girlfriend (or someone else's gf) and find a new fav pub in Phoenix or something.

(1)  Why did Kate Neilsen, his girlfriend, withdraw the Oct 2007 charges in Florida after getting her face smashed with a wine glass?

(2)  Why is her self-esteem so low that she'd rather be with a woman abuser, who happens to be a famous and handsome ex-footballer, than with an ordinary bloke who would punch Wayne if he touched her again?  

Go directly to jail, Wayne.  Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.

I hope not but if he does maybe Ben Cousins will one day join him and they can swap stories re how marvellous they each were???  Seriously though I am one of the few people who feel sorry for these blokes.   Treated like Gods probably from when they were in School (and "outscoring" all their mates), the media treating them like Gods as they got to thinking they were sort of  Gods and could do no wrong and were untouchable and poor Wayne and poor Ben have lost long-time friends because of a few little indiscretions.  What a shame.   Hope they will both be O.K.  They were/are both fantastic AFL players.

Carey is to appear in a Florida court on these charges in February 2008, and faces up to fiftenn years in jail and $30,000 USD fines.

That's just the maximum he could get, it doesn't mean he will definitely go to jail for 15 years.
