  1. who gives a rats a$$

  2. Well, since capitalism is the converse of communism and ethnocentric is just a feeling of group superiority that works both ways; yes!!

  3. Not even remotely.  It is inclusive.  View the millions who have swum, flown or crawled to get there- and PROSPERED!

What do you think the Chinese are doing right now?  The Veitnamese?  Take a look at the formerly communist Poland or Yugoslavia!

If the Russians are insulted, they surely have a "rubely" way of showing it!

  4. Not really, but that depends. Communism as a practical form of governance, however invariably and relatively quickly transmutes from the theoretical nice egalitarian sharing system to militaristic dictatorship or thugocracy.

Enforced communism then tends to be more like universal poverty than universal equality, just look at Bulgaria , it's been a thugocracy for 15 years longer than the rest of Eastern Europe and it's the old school communism of the strong-man. It's also a disaster, where people live in near abject poverty and there are no serious services beyond what the state can provide - which these days - isn't too much.

China it seems is attempting a controlled "slow-motion" capitalist revolution, and it may very well be able to pull it off, and have a central "party" which holds to some of the tennents of the communist doctrines in the "countryside" where there is still a predominantly peasant/comraderie, however that simply does not address the fact that all the most "interesting" aspects of capitalism are alive and well in China today. From people living and working in forced slavery conditions in various parts of China, to absolutely horrible environmental-pollution problems, caused by poor regulation under both pure communism and state-controlled capitalist systems to to billionaire entrepeneur software and hardware moguls, ala Bill Gates.

So while it "should" be insulting to the comrades of the peasantry that they are not as well to do, what China has tried to do - successfully or not remains to be seen, it have it both ways, have a strong central government which holds to some of the less obstructive structures of communism , but allows full laizez-faire capitalism as well.

Unfortunately the clock is ticking to when comrade peasants become righteously pissed off about the fact that they've been had, any time soon or both interested parties may

    loose out - big-time.
