Is Weston/407 area in Toronto unsafe to visit?

We, me and my wife, visited Weston Road/407 in Toronto to do some shopping earlier today. When we were sitting on a bench in roadside in the plaza to enjoy the sunshine, two young guys in a car stopped by suddenly and the driver speaked to me sliently(pretending). When I asked him why, he just asked me to come over to him and saying, hey, come over here man, I am not animal, I wouldn't bite you. We decided just to leave there, and I heard he was saying behind me, hey don't you x*x(undistinctly) if you even don't understand my question.

I believe that guy wanted to mess up with me because I knew that wasn't a friendly face. I bet he's not nice and I am highly suspicious he was armed. if I came over to him it wouldn't be good for me. Stabbing or shooting? Probably!

I just want to ask, is that area not safe to stay? I visit Toronto not long. I heard people saying Jane street was tough. But I'd though Weston Road was better even though not far away from Jane.

i think u may mean Weston and 401 and not the 407. north of Toronto things aren't so bad, accept for Scarboughough. but there is that one person that is suspicious or kind of crazy every where. he probably wanted directions, if u didn't like him then all the better that u didn't go to him, thats just your insticts.

Weston Road and 407 is pretty safe as far as i know. i went there to do some shopping as well and no one seams to bug me like that.

that would be the Jane and Finch area that u may want to stay away from. as long as u keep aware of your surroundings and protect your wallet or purse then u should be ok.

not really, Weston/407 isn't that bad, but **** can happen anywhere, no reason to avoid any particular area of a city

yes weston and 407 is a pretty bad area... pretty much that whole area (jane, finch, 407 etc in north york) is questionable. stay away from jane and finch... around woolner, driftwood. and just stay away from scarbourogh all together. no good there,
