Is Whirlpool the same brand as......?

My parents need to but a new fridge because our present one has broken down. Again. The one we have is part of the whole kenmore line and my parents do not want any fridge in that line. (It has several different fridge brands in the line) I wanted to know if Whirlpool is part of the Kenmore line because we were looking at fridges and i looked at a Whirlpool I liked.Is it?? Also when we looked inside it it had the same labling font as our one we have now so is it?

i know whirlpool owns maytag, but im not sure about kenmore. whirlpool is amazing though. and so is samsung, i have a samsung fridge and it's the best :D

kenmore is put out by sears brand.....whirlpool is its own=better

You have it backwards. Sears does not make any appliances. They have them built to their specifications by other manufacturers and use the Kenmore name. This also includes building them cheaper. Buying any other brand would not be a part of the Kenmore line.

Kenmore is the brand name made by the Whilrpool corporation for Sears.    Whirlpool also bought out Maytag in 2006.  So if you buy any of these appliances they are close.  For any appliances, I would suggest going to consumer reports.   You can look at their general information online at www.consumerreports.org without paying for a subscription.  You can also just subscribe online and they will give you a more detailed overview of their findings.  I use this with every purchase and it gives me piece of mind.

Whirpool and Kenmore are made at the same factory. Plus ,there parts are interchangeable

Whirlpool and Roper are the same.  Roper is a lot cheaper.

Look at the first three digits of the model number on the label of the Kenmore to see who made it.  This number is likely printed then the rest of the number will be stamped on.

If  the starts 106. it was made by Whirlpool. 363 is GE. 253 is Fridgidaire. 564 is Amana. and 464 (?) is Maytag. I may be wrong on the last digit on the last two. Oh, and LG I think is a 900 something number.

That covers most of them. You can't say you simply don't want one like ANY Kenmore because they have models from almost all the major makers.

And Sears monitors and checks the quality of their models since they can buy from anybody. So usually the Kenmores have one of the best repair records.

Sorry you are having troubles with yours.

And none are made like they used to. They don't last near as long without repair because the manufacturers have had to add so much electronics to meet energy requirements. Plus smaller compressors that run more for the same reason.

You are unlikely to find one these days that will run trouble free for 30 years like in the past.
