Is William Mulders son in the x files?

This question has been asked hundreads of times and yes they call him there son, but where is the evidence that william is mulders son? and if he is why is he 'differant'?

It is something that has always confused me!

We are never positive that William is actually Mulder's son.  He thinks of him as his son, and calls him his son.  Scully does name William after Mulder's father, so we think his is probably Mulder's.  If he isn't Mulder's, then the conspiracy probably used some sort of technology to impregnate her during the episode En Ami, and there is no way of knowing whose genetic material they used.
