In tennis their are 4 main, very important tournaments called the grand slams...they are the US open (hard court), austrailain (hard court), French (clay court) and Wimbledon (grass).

it is one of the top 4 as its a grand slam, not sure if its the best but it is the only grass competition. i think it is seen as better than the austrailan open but i couldn't say whether it is better than the french or american - it deffinatly is for Brits. it does have great matches, but there are always similar peopl in the final so its not the most interesting nessersery

I think so. It seems to be the tournament that is steeped in tradition - the white attire, the royal box and even the strawberries and cream!!. So maybe not biggest, but certainly the most prestigious (sorry for stealing someone elses word there!)

People say its the biggest because its so formal and different to all of the other tennis tournaments throughout the year. Ie. White clothing, post club etc. All that makes it probably the most recogniseable and well known, so yeah it is probably the biggest.
