Is Windjammer Barefoot Cruises unreliable or in danger of bankruptcy?

Bankrupt.

They're not bankrupt yet, but have not sailed since October or so.  They have stranding passengers at the dock, not paid crew, etc.  Their general modus opperende recently has been to officially announce cancellations 2 weeks or less before sail dates.

I would suggest that you visit the Cruismates.com Web site, and see Parts 1-4 of the Paul Motter story, and read posts on the Jammerbabe/Flotilla forum to become fully up-to-date.

Family announces plans to restart, but continues to cancel cruises.  The Web site is still up, and says nothing of all of this, with planned start date again in April.  Those watching the situation remain extremely skeptical.
