Is Wushu effective in the streets?

Let's not discuss punches/kicks just if its effective or not

Wushu means martial arts in Chinese, it's the same as Kung Fu. People in the United States misunderstand it, that wushu is the more flying gymnastic techniques and Kung Fu is a standard for styles like Shaolin, Five Animals, and Wing Chun. My Wushu teachers are from Beijing and trained in Beijing University have mastered wushu. Now for the question, is it effective? Well I have to say yes and no. Yes if you have enough knowledge of it to see how it is used in combat and no, if you don't know anything about it at all. So if you learn it, yes. Whatever MMA guys think, (which is any Traditional Martial Art is not effective) it's called MARTIAL ARTS for a reason. Do not be narrow minded like those fools you see wrestling each other in the cage.
