Is Xp sp3 any good? ?

Its the quickest most complete os out right now, so yea its good.

for a long time, I did not want sp3 on my computer, because there was no real need to have it installed

I have SP3 installed and everything does work fine. Not better or worse.

I do not even know that it is there.

When you are able to install it, do so, When not, leave it as it is.

No harm comes to your computer when SP3 is not installed.

I did not need to reactivate Windows and I've installed it on several machines at work.

I have found no problems with it at all when upgrading from SP2 to SP3
