Absolutely. Troll issues aside (and I don't think that's why they were taken down) the fact that the boards weren't modded was actually one of their better features. I for one enjoyed the free for all that they were, that people could express themselves as they saw fit. Have a problem with a particular user? Go ahead and tell them that you think they're full of it, or just put them on ignore. Does the user use multiple ID's? Fine. You know who they are, just don't read their posts.

People in general are just getting too whiny and petty. Yahoo taking the boards down is akin to all the other PC nonsense that's going on, usually under the guise of "protecting the children".

Yes, it's totally spineless.

I find it odd that they only shut down the United States message boards.

what some call trolls, are the real truthtellers and contribute greatly to the now defunct boards in usa.  yahoo doesn't honor 1st ammendment for USA or China!

Spineless, or maybe just lazy.  It takes employees paying attention to things to keep everyone in line.  And look how long it took them to solve the 'man' problem last week!  

Maybe they just don't get paid enough!  Yeah.
