Is Yahoo getting paid from all the spam cluttering the message boards?

If not, why is it being allowed to continue? Complaints go unanswered.

I don't think they get paid.  Why would a spammer pay to post messages when they can do it for free.  Spammers hijack/create so many Yahoo accounts, its almost impossible for Yahoo to stay ahead of them.

yup, yahoo is getting paid by advertising (spam). Complaints unanswered was your first clue. They do not care about your complaints, because you are not PAYING them to care. Free service, so they can do whatever they want...including run the company into the ground by chasing away all the users. Which they won't because it's still free. But nothing's free. We're having to pay for it in annoyance instead of dollars.

The spammers are paying to be annoying.

Unless/until we start executing spammers like any other terrorists, we'll have to keep living with this. And if you go to trial for killing a spammer and I'm on your jury, you're going free. All there is to it.

Of course they get paid for it. Lots. That's how this site is paid for, since you and I don't pay anything. Yeah, the ads suck, but they're a necessary evil unless you want this place to go subscription-based.
