Last December I was diagnosed with a rare neuropathic disease called Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome. I was given a 1 in 3 chance of dying. I was 24 years old, and I never smoked anything, don't drink alcohol and am in good shape, yet at one point I literally stared my infant daughter in the face and could not say for sure whether or not I would see her in the morning.
Obviously it is just part of growing up that one learns there is not always going to be somebody behind you to catch you when you fall, and I'm not complaining about the situation, HOWEVER...
At a time where I was searching for second, third, and fourth opinions(my primary care Dr and the Emergency Room docs failed to diagnosis me,) I reached out to Yahoo! Answers for some sort of feedback on my situation, just to see if anyone out there went through what I was going through... 99% of the responses I got were complete B.S. One girl even gave me a suggestion that had I have followed would have left my in a coma or worse. It was literally the worst possible solution to my problem.
Call me naive, but I have faith in mankind... at least on the subject matter of being able to answer a question honestly without having a cookie thrown their way. Why does Yahoo! need to offer a reward system?? They claim one gets more points for 'good' answers, but isn't it is much easier to unlock the 'benefits' of upper level membership by basically answering a ****load of questions that one has no idea about??? And why the heck do I have to unlock the right to respond to and ask certain questions on the freakin' INTERNET in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA???
