Is Yorkshire pudding ok for a Parrot ?

My parents have 2 parrots (had them years now), every sunday when we have a sunday dinner, Sam, who is an Amazon Parrot starts going beserk when we sit down for dinner (note this has been going on for years now, he is 18 yrs old), he only settles once you take him a wedge of yorkshire pudding ! lol

The other parrot, an African grey won't touch the stuff.

I have always got on at my mum about giving parrots food like this saying "they won't find Yorkshire pudding growing on trees in the amazon" and she always says "He loves it, so a little bit won't harm him", is she right or wrong ?

Do you give you parrots any unusual foods ?

Unless it says on the tin (not suitable for Parrots) it should be OK

I have a Indian ring neck that loves everything i eat. And i think its fine to feed them yorkshire pudding. Whatever makes them happy!!! Its up to the bird really I have a Quaker too and he's scared of most people food.

But no candy and chocolate. i heard that it's really bad for them.

My mom has a Blue and Gold Macaw named Sydney, and as of late, he's developed a very runny sort of p**p. We believe this is not because of worms, but due to the fact that one of his favorite snacks is a piece of melted cheese within a piece of bread!

My mom read that some birds could possibly be lactose intolerant. So, she's trying not to feed him anything that has a milk product in it.

Your bird may be the same way. Besides, isn't Yorkshire Pudding a bit fatty - why would you want to feed it that? ;)

My mom loves giving Sydney spaghetti, cereal, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich - it's almost like he's human! =D

It's not too bad.  Personally I prefer it with beef or sausages but parrot is OK.  It's a little bit like duck.

We have a cockatiel and he likes to try everything we have e/g rice,spaghetti,beans of any description he loves them, he also likes white wine he used to like red but his tastes have changed.............everything in moderation I say.

i have a parrot some times i feed the yorkshires and hes lost 3 0z i couldnt believe it.
