  1. Oh my goodness.  I have to say that I am a first grade teacher.  I have had 14 "first days of school."  I thought that I had this day covered...until my first child went to kindergarten.  I not only cried, I sobbed.  My husband had to introduce me to the kindergarten teacher because I couldn't speak.  The tears flooded my eyes, my voice was so squeaky and if even started that crazy jumpy breathing.  I was a mess.  I cried until I picked him up from school.  I was okay last year.  I was able to keep it somewhat together, no crazy crying just regular tears.  Next week we have the first day of second grade.  I think I will be okay but, who cares.  I love my boy and am so very proud of him.  I'll cry if I need to!

    Thanks for the fun question!

  2. My mom just homeschooled us.

  3. I know how you are feeling...my husband even cried when our first started school. You need to be thankful that your child is healthy and alive and growing and concentrate on that..many have children who are unable to go because of severe reasons and many lost their children at an early age in life. So smile and thank God your child is growing and the best thing about them growing up...(and this is the truth)...the grandchildren they give you in the future bring tons more joy! :)

  4. No, but I can remember when my daughter started pre-school and the bus came to pick her up and I was with her she turns around and says mom go back inside the house, I am a big girl I started to cry harded before she left she said I love you , mom I will be back soon... she was only 4 years old then....   When she left I cried all day until she came back... she knew gave me a big giant hug... kids know....I still think they are grown up midget...lol..lol....

  5. its very good for them to start school they grow and develop and many are usually very over ready to go.

just accept that u will cry and be happy ur child is goin to school and how many little pictures and magnificent things he/she will bring back and tel u about oh and dont forget havin friends round for tea lol

  6. Me too, and now I cry each time a grandchild starts!  It's a happy cry for a little one growing up, and a sad cry for the baby who isn't there any more.  But I also cry at weddings, sad movies, sad news stories etc.  I guess some of us are just a little more emotional than others.  Give yourself a hug and grab a Kleenex and don't feel bad about it!

  7. My little girl will be starting kindergarten this fall. I know she will okay because she went to pre-k last year, of course she was down the hall from me which made it easy for me to check on her. As the beginning of school gets closer, I do feel hesitant about sending her. Luckily, I have many friends at the school she will be going to so they can help watch her.

I think every parent goes through that scared, yet hesitant fear of sending their child to school. We will all get through it just like our mothers did when we started.
