  1. yes its part of the Ukraine.  They use the same alphabet of the Russian Language and probably have a similar language.

  2. It has a long and sorted history of trying to tie in multiple countries under a heading of Yugoslavia. It began in the 1920s when the Slovenes, Serbs, and the Croats were united in what was initially called The Kingdom of Yugoslavia.  The Communist movement and the Soviets had heavy hands in it and it changed names and included other countries multiple times, all while trying to keep it under the Yugoslavia name.  It never worked, the last attempt was to keep Montenegro and Serbia united under the name: Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.  It didn't work and the name Yugoslavia ceased to exist in 2003.  The countries stopped co-governing in 2006 and became independent countries.

  3. it is no longer a separate state.

  4. Not anymore. It used to be until it broke up in 1991. The current countries that make up the former Yugoslavia are:

    Slovenia

    Croatia

    Serbia

    Montenegro

    Bosnia-Herzogvina

    Kosovo

Yugoslavia was held together by the Communist government of Marshal Tito. When he died old ethnic hatreds rose and Yugoslavia fell into civil war. Eventually leading to the breakup of the country into the countries that are now present today.
