  1. While Yugoslavia existed it probably was considered as part of Eastern Europe, because it was communist, or lets say socialist country, although it was more open than any of these countries.

Geographically, it is considered as South-Eastern Europe.

  2. Yogoslavia, although being a part of the communist eastern Europe, has always had it's peculiarities. People were allowed to travel, central europeas did not have any problems to go to Yogoslavia for visits or vacations, Joseph (Brosz) Tito was the master and commander governing Yugoslavia with being a loyal communist to russia's policies, bur also open minded to the western world, and able to held those various tribes in unity.

After Tito's death and the breakdown of the communist system in Europe the Yugoslavian country was splitted into the various states of different ethnologie  which are:

    Slovenia

    Croatia

    Serbia

    Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Kosovo

    Montenegro

    Macedonia

  3. I would say, while it existed was and what's left of it now (Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia) is part of South-eastern Europe

    Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore!

But her ex countries (Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia) yes they are part of Eastern Europe!

  5. Yugoslavia no longer exists.

It was broken up into independent states some time ago.

The Balkans are probably as old Europe as you get though and is definitely pretty far East.
