It's doable, but I would strongly advise against it.  Get a dorm room or an apartment close to campus.

You are wasting 15 hour a week, you could be doing better things in that time.

Depends on the traffic.   And with the price of fuel,  too expensive.   Got a closer school?    

1.5 hrs @ 40 mph avg, =  60 miles.

60 miles 5 days weekly = 300 miles

300 miles @ 20 mpg =  15 gallons

15 gal @  $4.00 per =                                      $60 weekly

300 miles weekly,  3000 mile maint.

                  interval,  = 10 weeks.

$40 for cheapy maint. job                                $4  weekly

Tire allowance                                                   $2  weekly

Insurance,   $80 month                                    $20 weekly

We are up to $86  a week,   should we continue?

The time to use public transportation as a cost saving measure in addition to cutting congestion and pollution has arrived.    Also coming is moving closer to the job and work from home for those that can.

1 and a half just to get there?  or to and from?    it does seem like quite a bit of driving..   i mean, if theres nothing you can do about it... guess it doesn't matter.  but that's going to become a problem.. i'd think. i wouldn't want to drive more than maybe 45 minutes and even that's alot to be driving for school

Well, it adds three hours to your day, and the gasoline will be killer. It may go up over $4 a gallon this summer. But if you must do it, then try to make use of the time by getting your notes or text books on tape so you can listen to them in the car, turning your commute into study time. Then it won't be a total waste.

Dorm; this frees up 15 hours a week, which means 15 hours for partying on campus!
