going to buy a 10 speed legran are this ok for road riding?

  1. The number of speeds isn't what makes a bike road or dirt worthy. It's the general design of the bike.


  2. Yes but you get better wear out of a bike with 9 speed, probably  double the wear cos the 10 speed chain is narrower. True but strange

  3. Yes, the variety of speeds on a bike is for resistance training and exercise, which by the way, can still be sufficiently done also with a 10 speed bike. You don't necessarily need an expensive road bike to ride on the road. All you need is a decent bike, your knowledge of safety laws and concepts, and a good helmet. There are a lot of cyclists in my city, and they all ride different type of bikes: mountain bike, road bike, comfort bikes, cruiser bikes, and even bmx bikes. Just make sure that your brakes work well, the bike has light reflectors on the front and back, and you always wear helmet when riding (either on the road or off). I hope this helped :) ENJOY!!
