Is a 1280x720 resolution LCD TV good?

It is high definition.  Now is it good?  That depends upon a few factors.  How large is the screen?  Anything bellow forty two inches and you are wasting your money by getting 1080p.  You need to get within one foot of the screen to notice any real difference at that screen size.  Just because you may be getting a larger screen does not necessarily mean 1080p is for you.  You have to take into consideration your source.  The only sources out right now that take full advantage of a 1080p display are next gen gaming consoles and disk players, i.e. PS3, XBOX 360, or Blu-Ray.  If you will simply be watching HD broadcast television you may be better getting a 720p television.  This is because broadcast cable has plateaued at 1080i, and we are a far way off from having an infrastructure built that can support 1080p transmissions.

yes its good,its 720p the highest is 1080p,however tv channels only broadcast in 720p or 1080i(which is on 720p tvs).blu-ray and game consoles are pretty much the only things that go up to 1080p and also its better to have 1080p if u have a pretty large lcd something 42" or larger other wise u wont be able to notice the difference that much

Yes it is High definition. HD includes 720p (1280x720), 1080i (1920x1080), 1080p (1920x1080). Here 'i' stands for interlaced and 'p' stands for progressive. 1080p is known as full HD and is the highest resolution available today. But actually you cannot see difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen less than 42". You can see difference on 50" screen clearly. So 720p is sufficient. 1366x768 is also considered as 720p.

Generally speaking, yes it is.  It is considered a 720p TV.  The highest TV out there is a 1080p TV.

There are only 3 resolutions that are considered HD; 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.
