I am 5' 8" and 125 lbs. and recently I have been looking into buying a new snowboard. When I started riding I was ten and i had a 138cm and Ive never had a new board since. Would a 145 be too small for me now?

  1. The snowboard's height is, usually, calculated with the folowing methode: Snowboarder's height * 0,9.

    In your case 5' 8" = 1,73 cm.

    1,73 * 0.9 = 1,55

Therefore, 1,55 is the perfect height for your snowboard. It will be harder to accomodate with the new snowboard since it will be longer, so, harder to handle.

As a conclusion, yes, a 1,45 snowboard would be to small for you.

  2. i ride a 142 and im about 5 4 ish. I'd say yeah, thats too small. if you came into my shop i'd prolly recomend something in the 150's range... not anything above a 154. the length of the board is designed to give you control and a good stance. Ideally, you would want you bindings adjusted so they are right under your shoulders. if that is not possible with the 145, then its time to move up. Although, there are certain boards- like the burton LTR (learn to ride) which are designed to be smaller- with these boards, weight is usually the determining factor in length.

a general idea of where your board should be is between your nose and your chest (when stood on it's side)

  3. I am 5'6 125lb chick and have a 4'8 which is slightly short for me. Buy one in the 150's.

  4. wow, that is way too small.....i'm 5'2 and i ride a 148.

get at a snowboard somewhere around 155-160?haha i'm not sure though :]

  5. yeah, its small for you. We weigh the same and i'm taller than you by an inch, but i used a 155 when i went snowboarding last season.

  6. way too small, I'mm 5'9" and 140 and ride a 155 and your making more work for yourself with a small board get abananaa board
