Is a 15yo horse to old?

Hi I've found this amazing pony for sale and i'd love to do xc and shows and jumping high on him. But the problem is he is 15years old and I'm not sure if he'll be up for it? Get back to me thanks.

  2. 15 is not to old, as long as he doesnt have any health issues, or leg problems.  

  3. no.....if you do0n.t know the basics then you shouldn.t purchase him..............

  4. Yes that is quite old for riding and jumping, but if you think hes ok and you think he can do it, go for it.    Maby get him cheacked out by a vet

  5. My horse is 16hh we do up to gr1 showjumping and xcountry advance dressage.

    We win most comps or place.

    She out runs the young ones often getting fastest time in xcountry

  6. have a vet check him for good health. if he shows little signs of aging and is healthy and sound then he should be fine. if he will easily run at a gallop with a person on him and not stop until asked thats another clue that hes up for it.  

  7. Nah, but pay closer attention to him in the years ahead if you continue to work with him in that manner.  15 isn't terribly old.
