No don't spend that much on a used bike unless it has twenty miles on it and still has rubber **** on the tires.

Used bikes go for about one dollar per CC when they are that old unless its immaculate good shape. And no its not a girlie bike it is a good learner when you lay it down your not out so much. Not trying to scare ya but it happens to us all.

what makes a bike girly?

is it pink?

low seat height does not count for girly

if you do not want to restore it for a neo-classic collectible and store it away for a few decades

but actually ride it

do not spend the $1000

you will keep pouring money into a bottomless vat, great shape or not, everything rubber, most gaskets, within no time most bearings ... will need to be replaced

tires, brake pads, all fluids need to be replaced asap

plus there as a lot of positive development between the mid 80s and now, you will miss out on
