I am 17 and am looking around at cars, I will be under my parents policy and have taken drivers ed courses and never had an accident or any form of a ticket. My question is, will it be very expensive to insure a 1995 BMW 318ti? I know they cost a lot to repair if they need it but i just want to know if it will be very expensive to insure. I'm not looking at the sport version, just the standard base model. I'm not asking for a quote , just a simple answer whether it is expensive or is not expensive. If you previously had or currently have one please say so, so. Thank you for your time.

  1. No, I doubt that they'd be much more unreasonable than a regular, run of the mill car.

You have to remember that if the car gets in an accident, it's considered totaled if the repair cost is more than the car's value.

  2. This car should not be any more expensive than any other simila model to insure but the difference will be the experiences of the drivers on the policy. If you are going to be a driver on your mum or dad's policy as you are suggesting, remember that you cannot then be the main driver only an occasional driver.
