It's not that great.

If you are still in younger grades (8th, 9th) then don't worry.

You've still got time to bring it up.

Also, remember that colleges look at the difficulty of your school and the classes you take. A 2.8 where you go may be a 3 somewhere else.

Just focus on trying to get it up. It's almost a 3.0 which is good!

On a 4.0 scale, I'd say it's bad. That's a C average.

It depends on the type of classes you are taking.  If they are hard classes, then it is pretty good.  If you're taking classes that a 4 year old can pass, then it isn't so good.

u should consider it ur starting point and start to improve ur self

slowly slowly u will achieve ur good grades if u keep on trying

  don't put ur self down just grades r just meant to shoe u how much u need to work more, they  r like just meter of ur performance, some times they r bad some times they r good,

so forget this grade and make ur aim that next time u will score better than this,

If I had a 2.8 my parents would've killed me a long time ago...

Define bad.

It's not bad unless your in a college that expects a certain gpa or if you want to get into a program that requires a higher gpa.  If that's the case, you just need to reduce course load or get some extra help from teachers/classmates and spend more time studying to boost your gpa up.

Otherwise, it's a fine grade.  I think it's better to finish school with whatever gpa you can get.
