I'm very proud that I've pulled my GPA this far. I wanted to make it to 3.0 by graduation but I am going to barely miss it. I wondered if this a too terribly bad GPA. I understand it's not a B..but as far as if a job for some reason looked, would they be like...oh she's dumb? ha It's a General Studies degree so not for any specific field. Anyhow...just wondering if someone could give me some insight.

  1. For college, that is not a "great" GPA.  Don't advertise it!!  Adverstise your strengths; the fact you graduated (from GS) etc.  I would never put 2.93 down on antyhing.  If you have to write down a GPA, write down 3.0 (round the GPA).  3.0 is good; 2.93 sounds like a C.

  2. That's not bad at all.

  3. It's not terrible.  You figure most schools start Dean's List at 3.0, so you're very close to "good."  I had a 3.8 and graduated with a communication degree.  If you're not going to grad school, you'll probably find that your GPA doesn't have much bearing on your success.  I would encourage you to do internships and network with as many people as you can in the field you're interested in, as that will help you more with getting a job.

  4. No, it's pretty average except maybe where there is much grade inflation. No one is going to be thinking that you're highly intelligent or a good student, but not many will think you're dumb.

  5. beats 1.16.....T,..,T

  6. You should look at your study habits and see what you could be doing to improve.  You're not dumb, but you need to talk to a guidance counselor at school and see what you could do to improve your study habits... I'm not saying that they are bad, but there's ALWAYS something you can do to improve.
