  1. yeah....$2-$3 is perfect.

  2. well its usually 10 % of the price

so id say thast preety good

  3. Well, considering you didn't wait on them like a waiter and all that I'd say it was a good tip.  Yet at the same time you do have to pay for your own gas and no one is considerate of that.  But most people do give about a buck and them the extra change that rounds up to the next buck.

  4. depends .. was the pizza any good?

  5. YEP

  6. No, it isn't.  Unless the pizza place is next door.  That's a dollar for the trip to your place, and a dollar for the trip back to the pizza place.

Decent people tip %15-20 or more at a restaurant.  Granted, restaurant servers can legally be paid < $3/hour, but it's still a service.  Even if pizza drivers make minimum wage, they should get AT LEAST %10.

If you're going to be cheap, make your own food.

  7. No, not in my opinion. Consider this: if you ate in a restaurant, you (hopefully) would leave at least $5 or $6 as a tip. Now, obviously, a waitperson might make several trips in order to take your order and serve you, bring the check, etc...but: the pizza driver might only have your (one) house to deliver to in the course of an hour or so.

I don't know what they get paid as a wage, but I'll bet it's minimum wage or not much better, therefore a tip is a major part of their income. So instead of a $5 or $6 tip in  a restaurant ( =somewhere between 15 and 20%, you're giving this poor slob about 7%. Personally, I'd give them a $5 bill, or about $2 per $10. Especially with the price of gas these days. Besides:YOU saved on the gas AND the pizza would have cost you more in a restaurant. Me? I'm just an old softie ... but I've also been a "waitron" and it's made me a better customer. So: why not spread the wealth? It's only money.

Something you get with better tips: usually you get better service, especially from the same delivery person...you also stand a better chance of not having spit added to your designated toppings...now, what is THAT worth to you?

  8. You usually tip 10% of the total.

  9. hi,

Not really a common tip is around 15% of the total price.

What you would do is multiply 30 by .15 which would give you 4.5 so $4.50 would be your tip.

You could also tip the amount of your taxes that your are paying for the pizza.

    Hope i helped =)

  10. Usually the lowest you tip is 10% and that is even now considered too low. For a $30 dollar order you should have at least paid $3 for the tip. If you go to certain restaurants they will charge an 18%. Try to stay between 10-15% for tips. Most of the time that is the only job that they have and they hope to cover their bills by tips only.

  11. I usually give 2 or 3 dollars when I order pizza.  I think it's pretty typical so yea.

  12. The tip should have been more like $4.50 if you want to get technical about it but in todays economy you should probably be glad you got anything at all.

  13. yes, because the pizza place probably charges $2.00 or so for delivery and I think the driver gets that too.

  14. Well he probably spent that much in gas racing to you. 10% of 30 is 3 dollars. Your butt didn't have to leave the house so how much did he save you in gas and time dropping your pizza off at your front door? If you had a good waitress you'd tip 15 -20% which equals ruffly $4.50 so what is pizza delivered to your door worth to you when compared to food you have to prepare yourself or food brought to you by a waiter in a resturant?

  15. $2 is a little bit less than average. An average tip for that size order would be $4-5, but any tip is appreciated. Remember gas is $4 a gallon and most drivers only get about $1 per delivery to pay for gas.

Please don't assume that the driver keeps the delivery fee. I have delivered pizza for a few different places and I never got the delivery fee.

  16. Good enough.

  17. Yeah that was the company's $30,not the driver $5 would have been a wee better.

  18. Lol.....depends on where the pizza is coming from???????????????? Is it really worth it?

  19. Read plain jane's answer- it is correct morally, ethically, economically and correct tipping courtesy. If you can't tip well, go get your own d**n pizza...from a former waitress

  20. NO! That is not even 10% and with gas prices being atrocious, I would give him 5 bucks! He has to at least make it from house to house to deliver the d**n pizza! Haha...

  21. I don't think so. That is not even 10%. If there was a delivery charge, the driver does not get it. The charge goes to the restaurant so that they can make money on the delivery.

More than likely I would have left around $6. I always like to tip 20% for delivery. I always like to take care of the people that serve me. I usually will become a regular at places, and that way also they know I will tip good so I always get excellent service. If they are even faster than the time frame and bring any extras I ask, I will leave even more.
